Product Description

Monosodium  glutamate (MSG), white crystalline substance, a sodium salt of the amino acid  glutamic acid, that is used to intensify the natural flavour of certain  foods. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is an important ingredient in the cuisines  of China and Japan and is used commercially in broths, soups, canned and  frozen vegetables, flavouring and spice blends, gravies, meats, poultry, and  sauces and in other combinations. It is also used to enhance the taste of  tobacco and has been used medically to treat hepatic coma. The substance is  naturally present at high levels in tomatoes and Parmesan cheese.    


Application

1. Flavor Enhancer: Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is   widely used as a flavor enhancer in various food products to intensify and   improve the natural flavors of foods. It is especially common in savory   snacks, canned soups, sauces, and seasonings.
2. Seasoning Agent: MSG is often included in spice mixes and seasoning   powders due to its ability to add a rich, umami taste that enhances the   overall flavor profile of dishes. This makes it a key ingredient in many   commercial seasoning blends.
Preservative: In some cases, MSG is used as a preservative to maintain the   quality and shelf life of food products by inhibiting microbial growth and   preventing spoilage.
3. Vegan and Vegetarian Products: MSG is also used in vegan and vegetarian   products to compensate for the lack of natural umami flavors found in meat   and dairy, making plant-based foods more flavorful and satisfying.
