Product Description

Calcium   benzoate is a food additive used primarily as a preservative. It is a white   crystalline powder that is soluble in water. In the food industry, it helps   to prevent the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast, and fungi,   thereby extending the shelf life of foods and beverages. Calcium benzoate is   commonly used in products like soft drinks, jams, jellies, and fruit juices.   It is identified by the E number E213. While it is widely used, the use of   calcium benzoate is regulated by food safety authorities to ensure it is used   within safe and acceptable limits.    


Application

1. Beverages (Both Alcoholic and   Non-Alcoholic):
       - Preservative: It prevents the   growth of bacteria, yeast, and fungi, thus extending the shelf life of   beverages.
       - Anti-Microbial Agent: Helps to   maintain the microbial safety and stability of beverages during   storage.
2. Dairy Products (like cheese, ice cream):
       - Preservative: Inhibits mold and   bacterial growth, protecting the dairy products from spoilage.
       - Anti-Microbial Agent: Aids in   maintaining the quality and prolonging the shelf life of dairy   products.
3. Jams and Jellies:

       - Anti-Microbial Agent: Protects against   yeast, molds, and bacteria that could affect the gel structure and   safety.
4. Fruit Juices and Fruit-Based Products:
